C. J. Mahaney: The Gospel Centered Life

"The Gospel isn’t one class among many that you’ll attend as a Christian—the gospel is the whole building that all the classes take place in! Rightly approached, all the topics you’ll study and focus on as a believer will be offered to you ‘within the walls’ of the glorious gospel." via RT

  1. Have you heard what Mahaney has admitted doing and that he has stepped down as leader of Sovereign Grace Ministries? It looks like at best Mahaney is an example of do as I say vs. how he does.

The worst thing is how Mahaney blackmailed the cofounder of their group Larry Tomczak and that Mahaney hid this sin for 13 years.

A few blogs to look at are:

    Hope this helps.

  2. Steve, Just chanced upon this thread. yes, I've heard what you wrote though likely not with as much detail. However, I'm not sure of the relevance of this reply to the quote. The quote is valid and stands on its merit. The issues of Mahaney is grievious but my guess is that it is not the complete story - and that Mahaney has repented and sought forgiveness? If so, then a post like yours should present that also. I've done no research - simply reflecting. A parallel: We quote all the authors of Scripture and yet David committed adultery, Paul martyred Christians etc. This does not make light of sin, but make much of grace that covers the sin. These broken sinners redeemed by grace have much to say to us that we can learn from. I take Mahaney's quote at that same level. Appropriate? Or am I missing something. Thanks.
